Changing my life with a wave of [my] hand

A slew of people are leaving for further studies abroad. Today, in particular, a beloved teacher flew off to New York. Tomorrow, a friend from last summer leaves for Baltimore.

Today I turned in an application for grad school. Although I'm not leaving the country, the application is the first formal step away from life as I know it.

The entrance exam takes place on my birthday.
